Dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid can be used as curing catalyst of amino baking paint, used to prepare a variety of liquid, solid detergent.Used as detergent raw materials for the production of alkyl benzene sulfonic acid ammonium salt, sodium salt and calcium salt.Also directly used in all kinds of detergent, cosmetics formula. Because it is stable in acidic solution and has good washing performance, it is often used in the preparation of acidic solution detergents such as toilet cleaners.

Dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid is used in the largest amount of detergents, due to the use of large-scale automated production, the price is very low. Dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid used in detergent has two kinds of branched chain structure (ABS) and straight chain structure (LAS), the branched chain structure (ABS) has low biodegradability and will cause pollution to the environment, while the straight chain structure (LAS) is easy to biodegrade, the biodegradability can be greater than 90%, and the degree of environmental pollution is small.

Dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid is neutralized with sodium hydroxide (or sodium carbonate) to obtain sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid.

Sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide saturated solution (hereinafter referred to as lye) prepared for use,

Dodecyl sulfonic acid is placed in a blender, stirred and slowly added to the lye, and the acidity is constantly judged with test paper during the process.

When the neutral reaction reaches neutral, stop adding the lye and continue stirring for a few minutes.

The above results in a thick, transparent or yellowish solution of sodium dodecyl sulfonate, which can be used or diluted as needed.
